Streaming apps, alerts and channels
After the headend move, the IPTV work turned to new devices, regulated alerting and the channel line-up. This is that work, one project at a time.

Streaming-stick and mobile headend
Implemented the headend path for the streaming-stick and iOS apps across DRM, CMS, packagers, CDN and cloud recording. I then planned and executed the CMS and NTP cutover in November 2024, with testing across DRM, device management, set-top boxes and the iOS app.
I also supported the streaming-stick service directly: sign-in and loading faults, test setups for the operations team, and a troubleshooting wiki (34 hours).
Emergency alerting
- Rolled out Emergency Alert System support on the live packagers in 9 change rounds (2022).
- Audited and corrected the channel setup on all 4 CDN alerting units for CRTC alerting (55 hours, from late 2024).
- Service tests around the CDN changes for alerting (2023).
Channel line-up
- 31 channel changes: 17 SD to HD conversions, source moves, DRM clear and encrypted switches, primary and backup path moves.
- Wrote the change steps for master playlists on the packagers (2024).
- Moved news channels between primary and backup encoders, and wrote out the troubleshooting steps for the NOC.
Better support
- Traced an iOS TV app failure to iCloud Private Relay and put the fix in the support wiki.
- Wrote an 8-point streaming-quality checklist for Tech Support, and asked for the key diagnostic details in every buffering or picture-quality ticket.
